Requirements
• At least 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Platform Engineer • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Pulumi. • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Ruby, or Go, with experience writing automation scripts for CI/CD pipelines. • Experience writing in a high-level programming language such as Typescript (Pulumi/AWS CDK) • Experience working with Amazon Web Services and a solid understanding of networking concepts such as VPCs, DNS, TLS, load balancing, and VPNs. • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including the ability to troubleshoot cluster-related issues within EKS. • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (GitHub Actions, Codefresh, or GitLab CI a plus) • Experience working with other cloud providers, such as GCP or Azure • Experience with some high-level programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Typescript, and Go. • Experience working with SQL-based databases • Experience working with Mongo NoSQL databases • Experience with caching systems such as Redis • Experience with CDN, WAF, and DNS using Cloudflare • Experience working with serverless platforms such as AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Run, and GCP Cloud Functions.
Responsibilities
• Improve deployment reliability within the AWS infrastructure towards Kubernetes. • Reduce operational risk associated with cloud services and deployments. • Participate in an on-call schedule to manage unexpected system issues outside of normal business hours when required for upgrades and maintenance. • Automate self-service aspects where possible, as part of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). • Practice SRE principles by continuously improving observability within systems. • Build applications using Infrastructure-as-Code technologies like Terraform or Pulumi. • Deploy and manage Java-based applications on EC2 instances, including services such as MongoDB, Percona MySQL, and HAProxy. • Design robust monitoring and reporting solutions with tools like Nagios, Pingdom, Sumologic, New Relic, interfacing it with PagerDuty for incident management.
