Requirements
• 1–4 years of experience in a quantitative development, research engineering, or hybrid QD/QR role at a hedge fund, asset manager, or bank. Experience in systematic equities or macro is a plus. • Strong programming skills in Python (experience writing production-quality, maintainable code). • Willingness to expand your toolkit to adapt to our Scala driven production stack. • Experience designing, documenting, and scaling high-performance systems. • Strong desire to work with new development assistant technologies to drive productivity. • Experience working with databases and data platforms (SQL; Snowflake or similar) • Solid foundation in statistics and applied mathematics, particularly time-series and cross-sectional analysis. Familiarity with factor models, signal pipelines, and portfolio optimization frameworks • Experience supporting or implementing systematic investment strategies • Experience with trading in Asian markets is preferred including (but not limited to) familiarity with Asia market's distinctive characteristics such as stamp cost, financing, and no short constraints. • Comfort and desire to work across research and engineering contexts rather than a narrowly scoped infra role • The anticipated onsite requirement for this role is four days per week at our New York City campus or in our Singapore office. • It takes all types to make Bridgewater great. Responsibilities
• Research Enablement & Implementation • Partner closely with the PM and researchers to translate alpha ideas into scalable, production-quality models. • Maintain and evolve our research & production environments – from signal development to portfolio construction & risk management. • Incorporate AI/Machine Learning technologies into the team’s research and investment process. • Data & Infrastructure • Efficiently engineer and assess datasets for alpha potential. Work across large, unstructured, and alternative datasets relevant to APAC markets. • Ensure data quality, reproducibility, and performance across research and live environments • Portfolio Construction & Analytics • Develop tools to monitor portfolio exposures, risk, performance attribution, and signal behavior. • Partner with the PM on discretionary overlays, stress testing, and scenario analysis. • Work across trade execution and portfolio implementation teams to manage our portfolios. • Work across our data engineers, developers, and researchers to evolve our shared research platform and data ecosystem. • Contribute to improving productivity, tooling, and research velocity within the pod. • Interested in learning more about working at Bridgewater?
